I made AI Compute Footprint to understand how much much energy, space, water and CO₂ data centres need to run everyday AI tasks, and how that compares with the footprint of other everyday activities. I have a feel for how long a query takes when it runs on a local AI model on my laptop but I wanted to understand if we are all running these queries concurrently, how much compute is that, how many GPUs, how much land.
